The Dark Knight Rises Viral Campaign Begins [UPDATED]

I was planning on keeping quiet for a while but I can't. This is really just taking over my mind. Alright. On December 7th, Wired and Empire both received documents, one being a CIA file, the other one being a transcript from what looks to be a CIA Station Chief at the US Embassy and a member of the Georgian Militia. Then from The Dark Knight Rises official twitter, @thefirerises, another document was revealed about "Operation Early Bird", which was expected to commence at 1:00 PM EST Time, 10:00 AM PST.

So far, I haven't seen anything, but with the prologue being released this month, and just all of the goddamn rumors. I have to know what's going on. I may be going on a break for a bit, but this is the one thing I will be damn sure to post for all of you. After the jump, I'll show you the documents. And if anything more comes from the campaign, regardless of how much of a break I want, I'll get it to you.

Full List of IMAX Theaters Showing THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Prologue Starting December 16th

As you all should know, the prologue of The Dark Knight Rises will be playing in front of Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol. The prologue won't be shown in every theater though, only IMAX theaters that are housing a 70mm projector. Well, lucky for you all, I have a list of every movie theater that will be showing this list of awesomeness. After the break, check out the list of theaters. Also, keep in mind that a new trailer for TDKR will be shown in front of Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. The Dark Knight Rises opens July 20th, 2012.

News on THE DARK KNIGHT RISES (Possible Spoilers)

For the upcoming November 24th issue of Empire magazine, there is A LOT of news revolving around The Dark Knight Rises. Yeah. I'm buying a copy. First off, I shall begin with the cover of the magazine. Empire has two different covers they'll be releasing: one of Batman and one of Bane. Both look fucking badass. Here they are, courtesy of Empire:

My first thought was: What exactly is that awesome thing Batman is holding and where can I get one?!  It may just be me, but it somewhat reminds me of the awesome stun-gun that Batman uses in Arkham City. 2nd Trailer For THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Before SHERLOCK HOLMES: A GAME OF SHADOWS?

According to Batman On Film, the 2nd trailer for The Dark Knight Rises may be attached to Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. This hasn't been officially confirmed, as the website states that they've been "unofficially" told. But still, this makes a lot of sense. Both films are a product of Warner Bros., with Sherlock Holmes being released on December 16th. Keep in mind that the prologue for TDKR will be released in front of Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol in all 70 mm IMAX theaters, so getting a double dosage of TDKR seems fantastic. When this is official, I'll let you all know. The Dark Knight Rises opens July 20, 2012.

Last Friday I decided to head into Manhattan to see if I could find where the shooting for The Dark Knight Rises was taking place. I failed. My friend and I checked every gorram location and they were no where to be found. Assholes. But. Doesn't mean they didn't shoot. Since they did. Somewhere. I don't know where exactly. But they did. Anywho. Check out some of the images after the break. If you truly don't want to know a single thing that's going on, there may be some spoilers for you. But to me, they're fun to look at, and I'm excited. The Dark Knight Rises opens July 20, 2012 and stars many, many people.

Premiere for TOWER HEIST; THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Filming in New Jersey

Just a couple of tidbits!

• At The Ziegfeld in Manhattan, New York, Tower Heist, starring Ben Stiller, Eddie Murphy, Alan Alda, Casey Affleck and Matthew Broderick is premiering on Monday, October 24th. The Press Call begins at 5:30 PM, Arrivals are at 6:30 PM, and the screening begins at 7:30 PM. The address for the Ziegfeld is 141 West 54th Street between 6th and 7th Ave.
• The Dark Knight Rises will be filming in Newark, New Jersey on November 5th and 6th. There is a casting call looking for "biker types" under the title Magnus Rex (working title for The Dark Knight Rises). If you're near Jersey, I say give this a look, definitely. 

Several Pieces of News Involving TINKER TAILOR SOLDIER SPY and THE DARK KNIGHT RISES

First, we'll start off with Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, the thriller starring Gary Oldman and directed by Tomas Alfredson. In an interview with The Guardian, Gary Oldman tells them,

"I loved playing George and there are of course films to be made of John Le Carré’s other books featuring George, with Smiley’s People and The Honourable Schoolboy being the obvious ones. But I would insist on quite a few factors, such as I would really want Tomas Alfredson to direct it again.

There you have it. If StudioCanal is wise, and I'm sure they are, they won't pass up on the opportunity to create a franchise when you have a lead actor such as Gary Oldman, who's getting rave reviews in the film and Oscar consideration already.
