Next James Bond Movie Titled SKYFALL; New BLADE RUNNER Will Be A Sequel

I have not had the chance to see any of the most recent James Bond films yet. From what I hear, the first one was good but the second one blew something awful. Doesn't matter to me. All I care about is the third one. Why do I only care about the third one? Well. Any movie that has Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes, and Albert Finney is bound to be a pretty bad-ass film. The fact it's James Bond doesn't influence my decision at all. But for those of you who are interested for the whole James Bond thing, here are more details. First off, SONY has confirmed that the title for this film is Skyfall. The logline for the film, which was tweeted from the official James Bond twitter, @007, is:
“Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.”
Check out more info, plus details on the Blade Runner sequel after the jump.

Courtesy of a liveblog conducted by HeyUGuys, here are other important details listed for the new film:

  • Shooting on Skyfall began today.
  • We knew that Marlohe was the new Bond girl.  At the press conference, it was revealed that her “glamours, enigmatic character” is named named “Severin”.
  • Naomie Harris says her character’s name is “Eve” and that she’s a field agent. There was no mention of the previous report that she was playing Moneypenny.
  • Marlohe says she’s been learning to fire guns, and Harris says her prep works includes doing yoga three times a week, stunt driving, firing machine guns, stunt training, jumping out of cars, and running up and down stairs.
  • Skyfall doesn’t relate to any existing property.  It’s a stand-alone story and doesn’t connect to the first two movies
  • The producers implied they wouldn’t reveal some character names because it’s possible that some fans may recognize them.
Here's the press release for the film:

Now, finally looking at what's going on with Blade Runner. In a recent interview with Wall Street Journal, Ridley Scott offered some new details regarding the return to the film. Scott says that the new Blade Runner will be his next film and it "is liable to be a sequel," yet it will feature none of the original cast or the character of Deckard. The process is still extremely early in the pre-production phase, as Scott is still looking for a writer who could "be able to help me deliver."

When the project was first announced, Alcon Entertainment producer Andrew Kosgrove gave some details as to the timetable for the film, saying that the soonest he sees filming beginning would be in 2013, allowing Scott 18 months to hire a writer, pen the script, get a cast going, and then get going on the pre-production phase. Also, for anyone hoping Harrison Ford would make a return, well, no. Scott pretty much says that this film may end up being a sequel in the loosest sense of the word. And this is all I really have right now. When I have more news, I'll let you all know.
