First U.S. Trailer for Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy Released

A new trailer for Tomas Alfredson's (Let The Right One In) Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy has been released for the U.S. today. While this trailer pretty much just mashes up the clips from the previous two U.K. trailers, it doesn't make the movie look any less interesting. Reviews from Venice Film Festival are proving what I initially thought about the movie: that it's going to be a real true player come Oscar season. If this film is even half as good as the T.V. series starring Alec Guinness, then I'm pretty certain this may just be the best film of the year.

See the trailer here, and you won't be disappointed.

The cast of this film consists of Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, Tom Hardy, Benedict Cumberbatch, Toby Jones, John Hurt, Mark Strong, CiarĂ¡n Hands...do you need any other reason to see it? If you do, then I'll post the premise of the movie up right now. The movie will be released December 9, 2011.

Based on the classic novel of the same name, the international thriller is set at the height of the Cold War years of the mid-20th Century. George Smiley (Gary Oldman), a disgraced British spy, is rehired in secret by his government – which fears that the British Secret Intelligence Service, a.k.a. MI-6, has been compromised by a double agent working for the Soviets.
