Trailer for HOUSE OF LIES; Millennium Acquires RAMPART

Don Cheadle seems to be on a role lately with being the funniest human being in existence. First, he takes on the role of Captain Planet. Now, in the trailer for the new Showtime series House Of Lies, he shows how brilliant he is again. I have no idea what the show is about, but I honestly can care less. The show stars Don Cheadle, Kristen Bell (VERONICA MARS FUCK YEAH), Ben Schwartz (if you watch Parks and Rec, you'll know him), and other people who I don't know who aren't as important I'd say. The trailer can be found here. It won't disappoint. Oh yeah. What the shows about. Um. It centers on a “a team of cutthroat management consultants who will do anything in their pursuit of money.” There ya go. Showtime starting in January, remember it.

News involving Rampart, starring Woody Harrelson, after the break.

Oren Moverman's The Messenger is one of those rare films that can make you feel a clusterfuck of emotions at one time. One moment you could be laughing, but then, cut to the next scene, and you have something that'll just crush you. Then again, that came with the whole premise of the movie. Moverman's next film, Rampart, seems like it could be just as good, or even better. The film focuses on a a never- changing LAPD cop whose past is finally catching up with him in the wake of a department-wide corruption scandal. Teaming up with Moverman again is Woody Harrelson and Ben Foster, who were a perfect match in Moverman's first film. The fact he got them again is something I'm looking forward too. The film has a decent supporting cast, but it's nothing I'm crazy about so they're not worth the time.

Anywho, point of this article, Rampart has a distributor. Millennium Entertainment acquired the film in a $2 million dollar deal, which I could only imagine Millennium will want to get this movie out and about sometime in December so that it could possibly push for a few Oscar nominations. Here's the full synopsis of the film and lettme know what you think about it.

A genre-bending, 1990s Los Angeles police family drama, Rampart explores the dark soul and romantic misadventures of a never- changing LAPD cop (Woody Harrelson) whose past is finally catching up with him in the wake of a department-wide corruption scandal. Along the way, he is forced to confront his disgruntled daughters (Brie Larson, Sammy Boyarsky), his two ex-wives (Anne Heche, Cynthia Nixon), a tenacious Deputy DA (Sigourney Weaver), an investigator on his trail (Ice Cube), a homeless witness to his crimes (Ben Foster), his aging mentor (Ned Beatty) and a mysterious new lover who may or may not be on his side (Robin Wright), as he fights for his own sanity and survival.
